A chance meeting with then Governor General Michaelle Jean has allowed what was once a pipe dream for Ryan Veltmeyer to become a reality.

Besides meeting Jean, Veltmeyer and artist/entrepreneur Ann Denny who he formed The Youth Art Connection (YAC) with in 2012 were encouraged by Jean’s foundation to continue their work.

BAY IT FORWARD

Community Cares Youth Outreach provides young people with a safe and supportive place to enhance their skills for learning, work, wellness and leadership. One of the newest programs is Artpreneurs and is run by Ryan Veltmeyer and Jennifer Hubbert.

CLARI REPORT

The ARTpreneur program allows youth to explore their values, skills, ideas, and resources through an entrepreneurial lens in relation to their local economy. The goal of the ten-week ARTpreneur program is for participants to create an arts-based business plan to execute in our global economy.

Glace Bay

CAPE BRETON POST

The non-profit organization, in partnership with Youth Art Connection, will deliver the ARTpreneurs program in Glace Bay to young people between the ages of 18 and 22 who are interested in the arts and culture sector. The goal is to help them develop the skills and understanding needed to succeed as entrepreneurs.
